Israel passport visa-free countries
Holders of Jewish roots have the right to obtain Israeli citizenship, which comes with many advantages. One of the key benefits is the ability to travel freely around the world without a visa. However, there are certain nuances to consider—161 countries grant visa-free access to Darkon holders, while 60 countries are open to those with a Lesse Passe.

Nonetheless, even with these restrictions, both documents provide sufficient opportunities for travel, whether for tourism or business purposes. Below, we have compiled lists of countries where you can travel visa-free depending on the type of passport you hold.

While the Israeli passport provides extensive visa-free access worldwide, some countries may have additional entry requirements. It is always recommended to check the latest visa policies before traveling, as regulations may change.
For destinations requiring a visa on arrival or e-Visa, travelers should prepare the necessary documents in advance to avoid any inconvenience at the border. Additionally, certain countries may impose restrictions on entry for Israeli passport holders, so checking with the respective embassy or official immigration website is advised.
Visa-free travel for Israeli passport holders in 2025
Israeli citizenship grants significant travel benefits, allowing passport holders to visit many countries without a visa. However, the extent of this freedom depends on the type of passport issued.
A Darkon is Israel’s primary international passport, granting its holders visa-free access to 161 countries or simplified visa procedures. However, obtaining a Darkon is not automatic—it is issued to repatriates who have lived in Israel for a specific period.
A Lesse Passe (also known as Teudat Maavar) comes with more travel restrictions. While it allows visa-free entry to 60 countries, many destinations that accept a Darkon without a visa still require Lesse Passe holders to apply for one. Apart from these limitations, Lesse Passe functions similarly to a Darkon.
Below, you will find detailed lists of visa-free countries for both Darkon and Lesse Passe holders, along with a visual map showing the destinations available to each document.

Visa-free travel to the USA with an Israeli passport
As of October 19, 2023, Darkon passport holders can travel to the United States without a visa under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). To enter the country, travelers must complete the ESTA online application before their trip.
Initially, Israel was set to join the Visa Waiver Program on November 30, 2023, but the implementation was moved up to October 19, 2023, allowing eligible Israeli citizens to travel visa-free earlier than planned.
Lesse Passe holders are still required to apply for a visa through the standard process.
